The Kwad is an open community where any Artist or Designer can submit their design for evaluation and selection by our community of black college alumni, students, fans and members of black greek letter organizations.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1 – The Concept

Develop an original, unique design that speaks to and celebrates the positive essence of the black collegiate experience. Select one or more of our licensed HBCUs, fraternities and sororities listed below and create an iconic design that speaks to expression, soul, meaning, creativity and purpose. We’re not talking about some cartoony standard frat or sorority design or the corny block letters of the college. But a concept that is so on point, it will make our community take notice.

If you’re having trouble coming up with a theme or concept, you have the option to use our current design challenge as a thought starter and a platform to develop your work. Or just freestyle it, whatever you prefer.

Step 2 – The Submission

When you have your design ready, send it to us by clicking on the “Submit a Design” button below. But make sure you have it in the right format otherwise it will be rejected. You’ll need to send us two files. The first will be a low resolution version of the design in a JPG or GIF file that is 584 x 438 pixels and under 100kb which will be used on the site for grading. The second is high resolution version of the design that is in EPS, BMP or AI format, at least 300 dpi and under 30 mb. This is the master art that will be use for printing the shirt.

Step 3 – Making the Grade

For 14 days, your design will be graded by The Kwad community. So tell your friends, family, alumni, sorors, brothers, co-workers, boss, classmates….basically everyone, to visit www.TheKwad.com and grade your design! The grade and comments will help us big time in deciding which designs make the cut.

Step 4 – Get Paid!

If your design makes the cut, you receive:

• $100 in cash
• 5% royalty on each t-shirt sold
• 3 shirts of your design or any design on TheKwad.com

Monthly Design Challenge

Every month, The Kwad will issue a new design challenge to test the creative skills of Artists and Designers. You have the option to participate or do your own thing, whichever you prefer. While various designs submitted within the challenge can be selected for sale, only one will be the Mack Daddy or Mama of the month. That winner will receive a bonus of $200 in addition to the standard $100 payment and 5% royalty.
